DO NOT use this router if you own a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.... I owned one in Jan '24 & after a 4 month back and forth with the TP IT department they admitted that it has a known issue. Basically the S24 Ultra and the BE800 use the same QUALCOMM Wi-Fi 7 chipsets and due to an issue they cannot yet explain, it causes the BE800 to randomly reboot, in most cases it would need to be factory reset to get Wi-Fi to start working again, I was beta testing their firmware to see if they could patch it, but I ran out of time and patience In the end i RMA'd the device and switched to a Ubiquiti Dream Machine, which worked out cheaper than getting the BE800 at time of launch.

what about people who can only get VDSL ? do they upgrade that ?

All of these consumer routers are just fancy toys. It doesn't come close to Ubiquiti

Who is this for? In real use, no one will notice the performance increase without benchmarking tools, but it generates a lot more heat and pulls a lot more power. Direct Storage doesn't benefit much from faster drives since most of the speed increase comes from offloading decompression from the CPU to the GPU.

As the rare person who actually uses wifi for my vr setup, I think this will definitely be worth the upgrade when wireless capable VR headsets support it, I love 6E's latency but the lil dropouts from it being so short range aren't great, so being of 6ghz and 5ghz bands at the same time would cover that tiny reliability gap that isn't fun to deal with.

well considering i have my NTD in the shed at front of house and i have a nas plus plan upgrade ring cameras to POE and attach to my synology i need a lot of ports and having to add extra hardware to expand is a pain, so i think the asus rt-ax89x (octopus) is till a great option minus the wifi 7 capabilities

How much ram does it have?

My FTTN speed in 2016 was 108Mbps (screen shots from speed tests saved over the years) today I was offered, by Telstra FTTP plan for a $40/mth increase that will give me 100Mbps, ON FIBRE. 8 years on, less speed and $40/mth more. My current NBN speed is around 37Mbps, so down from 108Mbps 8 years ago. We are all being ripped off. Add to that my service provider Telstra gets a caller from India to explain the new offer to me, Indian lady talking to a Scottish man in Australia I can tell you did not go well. I am 70 years old and just want a fast reliable internet service but have no idea who to trust anymore.

Reading the spec sheet doesn't bring value to your video, especially when irrelevant stuff makes up the vast majority of the runtime, we can read the asus or amd spec page ourselves. And while producing actual numbers is what you want, you failed to provide comparison data with other hardware or enough information about your setup to make that data really usable. So we have no idea how much the card heats up, how much noise does it make, or how does it perform compared to other non-asus variants or other models on the particular benchmark sections you ran. Also I don't understand why you recommended to reinstall windows to install the card, what problem DDU didn't solve for you? And the chapters don't match up with what you're saying. The software portion talks about hardware and pricing, the pricing section doesn't contain the pricing... etc. Don't make a video because you can, make it relevant.

The original NBN idea was a British idea. Cut costs by putting cables through sewers. So Australia thought it was a good idea and took it. Except they didn't use the sewers, so it became really expensive.

This is worst product I bought for long time. It is so stupid it is hard to describe. Gets stuck all the time, looses connection, the beacons sometimes disconnect, map is somewhat incorrect, edges does not cut, hard to get one day without issues. Terrible product, please avoid at any cost!

I was watching samsung tablets and huawei and xiaomi but for my use its a win win
